Sports massage uses a blend of traditional Swedish Massage and Shiatsu specifically designed to treat professional athletes before, during and after an athletic event. It is mainly used to help reduce fatigue, muscle tension, and swelling which would help the athlete avoid minor injuries and increase flexibility.

A typical Session in Sports Massage Therapy will include cross fiber muscle kneading, deep sustained pressure massage and assisted stretching. In addition, the sports massage therapist will assist the client with joint mobility through compression and traction movements of the joint capsules.
